Using the organization as the road map, Vale is able to create the job descriptions, highlighting details such as roles and responsibilities, skills and/or competencies, and qualifications including work experience and educational requirements.  

These descriptions can be completed using such methods as:

  • observation
  • interviewing, or 

  • completion of job description questionnaire.

The job description is the primary input to the job evaluation process. Using the job description detail, each job is evaluated against the nine key compensable factors. An effective job evaluation program successfully identifies and aligns each job ensuring internal equity across the organization.
